The Draa valley runs down to Zagora and Erg Chegaga, the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs heads for the Dades and Todra gorges, and Aït Benhaddou is thirty kilometres away. Starting here instead of Marrakech saves you a full day of riding each way and drops you straight into the landscapes you came to see.

Frequently asked questions
Why start in Ouarzazate rather than Marrakech?
Because you save the Tizi n'Tichka day of riding both ways. From Ouarzazate you are already in the south: the Draa, the Dades and the Todra are immediately within reach.
Do I need an off-road bike here?
Not for the main routes, which are paved and spectacular. But if you want to ride the tracks towards Erg Chegaga or Jbel Saghro, take a Suzuki DR650 or a Honda CRF250 — far easier to pick up and to handle in sand.
Do you deliver to Ouarzazate airport?
Yes, to the airport as well as to your hotel or kasbah. Let us know your arrival time and the bike will be waiting, fuelled and ready.
When is the best time to ride from Ouarzazate?
October to April, without hesitation. Spring and autumn are perfect; winter is cold at night but very clear by day. In summer the Draa and Dades valleys become stifling in the middle of the day.
How many days should I allow from Ouarzazate?
Two days for the Dades and Todra gorges, three to ride down the Draa valley to Zagora, and four to five to link both into a single loop.
